Traffic Exchanges

Traffic Exchanges are primarily free programs that have upgrade/paid version options. The idea is that you can place your promotional links in the Traffic Exchange (TE) rotator for others to view. When you log in to view other peoples' promotional pages, the TE, in turn, gives you credits. You can turn around and use these credits to assign to your promotional pages in the rotator to get your links/pages viewed for free.

• View pages/surf=earn credits
• Use credits=to show people your promotional pages

Simple...

However, not always an effective way to show your pages, depending on:

• Ratio of views/credits per view
• What kind of pages you are promoting

Traffic Exchange promoting is more effective when you have more than a 3:1 ratio of credits per view and when you promote simple pages (splash pages) and sign up form pages (pages where people can sign up to a program or onto your email list).  Explanation 3:1 - three views of pages to gain one credit. If you have to view more than three pages to earn a credit, you'll surf forever to get free credits for promoting your page. Three views per credit is pretty standard. Upgrading at many sites will often give you a 1:1 ratio which is even better - HOWEVER - be CAREFUL with TE Upgrades. Most are subscription based and are of the monthly type, so when you pay for the first month, this sets up a subscription payment in your payment processor. This means that you'll automatically have monthly payments deducted from your payment processor every month 'til whenever - unless you change your subscription type or cancel, according to TE TOS (Terms of Service).

Although I'm not a fan of all TEs and I also believe this "earning/biz arena" is HUGE and contains many scammers, I think many TEs are legitimate and not only help you promote your offers but also contain some good referral earning programs. Worth learning to use correctly.

Not worth using at all unless you learn to use them correctly!

There are "TE Marketing GURUs" out there and I put some of them in the same class as covert marketing GURUs who upsell constantly, promote half-cocked programs, services, etc., and who are interested only in their downlines without providing the quality they claim they're putting forward. I believe there are a few of the TE Gurus in the Click Track Profit program but most people who are able to detect "marketing JUNK" will recognize the garbage gurus in the CTProfit downline builder. The programs are all still worth using, the tutorials are excellent, but just keep your money in your pocket until you know which programs in the downline are run by legit program owners with responsive TEs versus money grabbing JUNK SITE marketers!
